If there is one person who takes Mr. Chandrakant Sampat more seriously than the others when he paraphrases Professor C.K. Prahalad, "We are not resource poor, we are imagination poor, we have no courage to dream", it is Avinash. And he seems to have taken the latter part more seriously than the former, since all he says he does is \'dream\'. And when not working or dreaming, he tries to sleep. Otherwise he reads books. He reads too much and remembers too little, and often laments the fact that he\'s not as well-rounded as he was when he was twelve!

     After graduating as Bachelor of Commerce from Jai Hind College, Bombay and a nineteen-month stint as a research analyst with a Bombay Stock Exchange broker he went on to become portfolio manager at Parag Parikh Financial Advisory Services Ltd.      The ability to take on risks and to make successive mistakes as quickly as possible, is a quality that he yearns to inculcate in himself.

     He says, he\'s been most influenced by Dr. Shantanu Nagarkatti, a specialist in Major Ambulatory Surgery, whose lectures on \'The Bhagavad Geeta\' have been the single greatest source of inspiration in his life. Avinash also spends some time antagonizing his wife, having personal quiet time, and searching for the meaning of life. Will Avinash ever find what he\'s looking for? Really, he has no clue.

     Though he hopes to have his ego all chipped off before the Reaper gets to him.

     He loves sharing Wayne Gretzy\'s advice that he finds so relevant to investing, "Go to where the puck is going to be, not where it is."
